Lenoir County Commissioners Tour FRCE & Electrolux

On Wednesday, June 10, the Lenoir County Commissioners and members of the EDR team were hosted by FRC East and Electrolux in Lenoir County. During their visit, they learned more about these existing industries and the important contributions they make to our region.

To kick off the day, the Commissioners visited the construction site of FRC East's new Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility at the North Carolina Global TransPark. While there, they saw firsthand the progress being made on the hangars and toured the partially completed office space. The facility will serve as a state-of-the-art MRO complex. Each hangar will accommodate and service various aircraft, including C-130s used by the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps and HH-60W helicopters used by the U.S. Air Force.

At Electrolux, the Commissioners had the opportunity to meet with Plant Manager Jeff Britt, who provided an in-depth tour of the facility. Throughout the tour, the Commissioners witnessed employees hard at work and observed dishwashers at every stage of the manufacturing process. These day-to-day operations help drive the success of both the plant and Lenoir County's economy.

In addition to its existing operations, Electrolux is expanding to add a fourth assembly line, increasing the annual production of their dishwashers.

Both tours provided the Commissioners with valuable insight into the impact of industry on the region and the importance of supporting continued growth. These firsthand experiences offered a deeper understanding of the critical role employers like FRC East and Electrolux play in strengthening the local economy, creating jobs, and enhancing quality of life throughout Lenoir County.

Thank you to Electrolux and FRC East for hosting Lenoir County leaders and for showcasing the innovation, investment, and opportunity that continue to drive our region forward.
