Construction on this massive 60-acre site continues with infrastructure work on stormwater, utilities, wastewater, and water lines. Structure foundation work is now the main focus as re-bar and concrete are poured for footings that will hold steel beams.
On-site plants are producing concrete for footings and fuel tank pads, as well as asphalt for paving runway accessways that will connect to the soon-to-be-erected hangars.
Barnhill Contracting and TA Loving Company collaboratively manage the project, sourcing resources and contractors from throughout Eastern North Carolina and beyond.
Once complete, the complex will provide Fleet Readiness Center East, a Naval Aviation maintenance and repair depot under Naval Air Systems Command space for maintenance operations on C130s and other Air Force and Navy aircraft.
