Three EDR Announcements Listed in Business NC’s Top 25 for 2025

North Carolina has achieved another remarkable series of economic development successes over the past year, as highlighted in Business North Carolina's annual report on the most significant job-creation announcements.

In this year's report, the North Carolina Global TransPark Economic Development Region (EDR) has three announcements listed among the top 25 job-creating initiatives.

Interestingly, this year's list emphasizes domestic projects, with U.S. operators responsible for seven of the ten most significant job-creating initiatives, compared to just two last year. Still, foreign investment remains robust in North Carolina, as companies from Canada, Europe, and Asia announce new and expanded facilities. Additionally, reflecting that trend, two of EDR's featured announcements are U.S.-based.

The project details are compiled from state reports, press releases, and local media coverage.

Out of the top 25, three EDR announcements were recognized for significant job creation:

  1. Fleet Readiness Center East – Lenoir County
  2. Prolec-GE Waukesha – Wayne County
  3. Pelsan Tekstil – Wayne County
