Office Location: 2780 Jetport Road, Kinston, North Carolina (In-Person Only)
Overview: The North Carolina Global TransPark Economic Development Region is seeking an experienced Economic Development Marketing & Project Coordinator to provide foundational support for regional marketing initiatives, property database management, and administrative operations in collaboration with member organizations in Greene, Lenoir, and Wayne Counties.
This position is designed for an established, self-motivated professional who thrives on taking complete ownership of projects from start to finish. Working as part of a collaborative five-person regional team, the ideal candidate is an independent worker with proven professional maturity who can be assigned a task and trusted to execute it with precision, accountability, and minimal supervision. The ideal candidate is creative, detail oriented, and comfortable engaging directly with business leaders, community partners, and the public.
This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer of the North Carolina Global TransPark Economic Development Region and works closely with the President, Existing Industry Directors, and local partners in each county. The position is based on-site at the North Carolina Global TransPark Economic Development Region office in Kinston, North Carolina and is NOT a remote position.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead drafting, formatting, and distribution of the regional monthly newsletter
- Lead social media content creation, routine posting, and account management for the regional Facebook and LinkedIn accounts.
- Lead routine updates and content maintenance across on the the website
- Serve as photographer and videographer for regional events, industry visits, groundbreakings, and property sites.
- Design digital graphics, print flyers, presentation decks, video clips, and promotional collateral.
- Lead research, data collection, and organizing datasets for economic development reports and property flyers.
- Assist with updating real estate listings and site data on specialized economic development real estate software.
- Assist with routine data entry and database maintenance in the regional CRM system.
- Assist with event planning, setup, logistics, and on-site coordination for regional meetings and program functions.
- Assist the President and Chief Operating Officer with operational needs, administrative tasks, compiling data, completing site matrices, and organizing documentation for business recruitment inquiries, and other organizational items.
- Assist Existing Industry Directors with business retention projects, industry appreciation initiatives, event planning, and local projects.
- Provide general office support and administrative assistance to all team members as needed.
- Assist as needed on any other assigned duties or tasks requested by leadership.
Qualifications
- Associate degree is required, a bachelor's degree is preferred
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of demonstrated professional workplace experience in marketing, project coordination, or administrative support roles
- Proven track record as a dependable, mature self-starter who manages time effectively, takes full ownership of assignments, and consistently delivers completed work on schedule without requiring step by step supervision
- Strong comfort level with accurate and routine data entry work
- Practical experience and comfort with photography
- Demonstrated ability to conduct practical research, organize datasets, and present findings clearly
- Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar graphic design software
- Capability to quickly master and manage specialized software platforms, including CRM databases and real estate mapping tools
- Valid driver’s license required
Work Environment
- This is a full time, in-person role based at 2780 Jetport Road in Kinston, NC (no remote option)
- Standard office hours, with occasional early morning, evening, or weekend assignments for regional events
- Travel is strictly limited to routine day travel within our three-county region (Greene, Lenoir, and Wayne Counties)
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds of marketing or display materials
