The funding, comprising a $150,000 appropriation from the North Carolina General Assembly and a $15,000 grant awarded by the Golden LEAF Foundation through their SITE program, was announced by Golden LEAF on December 7. The funding will be used for a third-party firm contracted by Golden LEAF to help identify potential industrial sites in Greene County. The allocated funds will be strategically utilized to identify possible locations for new industrial development and due diligence on these possible locations. “We extend our sincere gratitude to Representative Humphrey, Senator Newton, the North Carolina General Assembly, and the Golden LEAF Foundation for their support.
