FRC East C130 MRO Complex Construction - Update
Site construction for the future FRC East C130 MRO Complex continues rapidly. Over 500,000 yards of fill have been applied to the site. On-site concrete batch plants have been assembled to mix the stone sub-base, which is being hauled in to prepare for asphalt and concrete work. Stormwater infrastructure is 90 percent complete, with the footings and foundation work for hangers and structures at 85 percent complete. Steel has also arrived for two buildings.
Barnhill Contracting and TA Loving Company jointly manage the project, bringing in resources from across Eastern North Carolina.
Once complete, the complex will provide Fleet Readiness Center East, a Naval Aviation maintenance and repair depot under Naval Air Systems Command space for maintenance operations on C130s and other Air Force and Navy aircraft.
