STEM East, an initiative of NC East Alliance, recently hosted the Smart Manufacturing Industry in Schools Teacher Leadership Institute in partnership with Lenoir Community College and Electrolux of Kinston.
Mark Pope, EDR President, attended the event at Lenoir Community College's Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing Center, which gave educators a firsthand look at advanced manufacturing. Attendees also toured Electrolux of Kinston, where they observed the assemblely of dishwashers. Teachers left with new insights and classroom-ready activities designed to inspire students, as well as, connect them to real-world careers in smart manufacturing.
