The North Carolina Global TransPark Economic Development Region (EDR) Board of Directors officially proclaimed October 2026 as National Manufacturing Month during its October 14 Board meeting, recognizing the tremendous contributions of manufacturers throughout Greene, Lenoir, and Wayne Counties and the North Carolina Global TransPark.
Manufacturing has long been an important part of Eastern North Carolina's economy and identity. From aviation, aerospace, and defense to food production, energy, and advanced manufacturing, the companies operating throughout our region provide meaningful careers, support local families, and help strengthen our communities.
The proclamation recognizes not only the companies that continue to invest and grow in our region, but also the thousands of hardworking men and women who make their success possible.
Every product manufactured in Eastern North Carolina represents more than a business investment. It represents employees building careers, families creating better lives, and communities benefiting from economic opportunity.
Through this proclamation, the EDR Board of Directors expressed its appreciation to the manufacturers who have chosen to call our region home and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting existing industries, strengthening workforce development, and encouraging continued investment.
The proclamation states:

As part of this recognition, EDR will share the proclamation with the Greene County Manufacturers Association, Lenoir County Manufacturers Association, and Wayne County Manufacturers Association, with a request that it be distributed to their member companies and employees.
