This huge jet is a strategic airlift jet designed and manufactured by the Ukrainian company Antonov. It is one of the largest cargo aircraft in the world and is known for its immense carrying capacity. The Antonov is used for various purposes, including transporting oversized cargo, heavy machinery, and humanitarian aid. This is one impressive aircraft! The GTP’s 11,500-ft runway makes it ideal for the Antonov’s landing and takeoff distances. Plus the GTP’s cargo handling, unloading, and logistics operations services meet the need of the Antonov. The best part is the GTP’s runway allows industries within Eastern NC the option of using large cargo aircraft, like the Antonov, to move large equipment and aerospace components worldwide.
