We just released our 2026 Housing Market Report for the NC Global TransPark Economic Development Region, and the numbers make a strong case for Eastern North Carolina.

The median home sale price across Greene, Lenoir, and Wayne Counties in 2025 was $256,175. That is 39% more affordable than Raleigh and 36% more affordable than Charlotte. For a new employee relocating from Raleigh, that gap means nearly $1,000 less per month on their mortgage, or more than $11,000 back in their pocket every year, without a raise or a job change. That is a real, tangible benefit you can put in front of a candidate on day one.

The market is healthy and moving. In 2025, 1,823 homes sold across our region, homes averaged 44.8 days on market, and 2,234 new listings came online. Prices grew 3.6% year over year, showing a market that is appreciating steadily without pricing out the workforce your company needs.
